APRS 2024 is hosted by the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) under the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC)
Taiwan Space Agency, TASA, focuses on enhancing the Taiwan space technology research and development capabilities, implementing the national space policies and plans, and promoting Taiwan's space activities and industry development. TASA is also tasked with the responsibilities for promoting international collaboration and exchanges, providing guidance and assistance in upgrading the country's space industry and technologies, conducting legal research on space-related affairs, managing national launch sites, and handling reviews of registrations and applications for launch permits and space vehicles.
National Science and Technology Council, NSTC, is a government agency in Taiwan, responsible for promoting and funding scientific research and technological development. Established in 1959, it oversees science parks and works to enhance Taiwan's standing in science and technology on the global stage.
SPIE is the international society for optics and photonics, which operates as a not-for-profit membership society since its founding in 1955. SPIE connects, engages, and serves over 24,000 members and a global constituency of more than 258,000 people from 184 countries. Led by a dedicated team of volunteers — including a Board of Directors, multiple committees, conference chairs, and journal editors, SPIE’s mission is to partner with researchers, educators, and industry to advance light-based research and technologies for the betterment of the human condition. SPIE is also the publisher of the SPIE Digital Library, the world’s largest collection of optics and photonics research. Operations are directed from their headquarters in Bellingham, Washington, USA.
